Dr. Tammy L. Kernodle, the University Distinguished Professor of Music at Miami University (Oxford, OH) will deliver a lecture entitled, "This Music is Black Music: Mary Lou Williams and the Re-framing of Jazz’s History in Civil Rights Era America." Dr. Kernodle's lecture is co-sponsored by the Division of Jazz Studies, the Graduate Association of Musicologists und Theorists, the UNT Music Library, and the UNT Women's & Gender Studies. It will take place in Union 339 with a reception to follow in the Spec's Charitable Courtyard.
