Kieran Arevalo is a Master's student with a concentration in Ethnomusicology. She received Bachelors in Vocal Performance and Latin American Studies with a minor in Portuguese (2021) from the University of Utah. Her primary research interests concern Brazillian folk music, the relationship of music and politics, and the influence of the African diaspora on Latin American music
