Elizabeth Durrant is a PhD student and a Teaching Assistant in Musicology at the University of North Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from St. Mary’s College of Maryland (2012) and a Bachelor of Science in Music with a voice concentration from Towson University (2019). Elizabeth has also received the Academic Achievement Scholarship from the Toulouse Graduate School, the Competitive Graduate Musicology Non-Performance Scholarship from the UNT Division of Music History, Theory, and Ethnomusicology, and the Undergraduate Presser Scholar Award from Towson University. Her research interests include early music, women in music, and race and representation in music. In addition to her academic pursuits, Elizabeth plans to continue singing at UNT by engaging in the many performance opportunities that the school has to offer.
